YBI Geotechnical Field Investigations Scheduled for Dec. 22-30
ENGEO Incorporated has contracted with the Islands master developer, Treasure Island Community Development (TICD), to conduct a geotechnical field investigation within the first Major Phase 1 project area. Previous geotechnical exploration has already been completed and this additional exploration will be used to provide additional data.
WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?
Subsurface exploration including additional boreholes and soil sample collection at several locations on Yerba Buena Island. The purpose of the geotechnical field investigation is to characterize the subsurface soil stratigraphy on Yerba Buena Island within Major Phase 1 of the Treasure Island Development project. A picture of the vehicle used to conduct the boring and sampling is below. Work will include:
1. Auger drilling (8” diameter holes)
2. All boreholes will be grouted and all test pits will be backfilled
3. Roadway borings will include traffic control
WHEN WILL THE WORK TAKE PLACE?
Field sampling activities are expected to begin on December 22, 2014 and are expected to end on December 30, 2014. The work is expected to take place between December 22nd and 24th and again between December 29th and 30th. Most activities will occur between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ENGEO does not anticipate conducting drilling work on weekends or at night. There will not be work on Christmas Day and New Years Day.
WHERE WILL THE WORK TAKE PLACE?
All work will take place on Yerba Buena Island. See map below for the planned YBI work locations (identified with blue dot).
