Lev's Original Kombucha Wins 2015 Good Food Award
Treasure Island based Lev's Original was named a 2015 Good Food Award Winner at the Fifth Annual Good Food Awards Ceremony and Gala Reception held Thursday, January 8th at the Palace of Fine Arts Theater. Lev's Original was named a Winner in the "Pickles" category for it's Black Currant Kombucha tea, available at local retailers and restaurants including Whole Foods Markets and Treasure Island Bar & Grill.
The Good Food Awards were created through a collaboration of food producers, farmers, food journalists and independent grocers organized by Seedling Projects. This team nominates judges from across the country to select over 100 winners from 5 regions of the country that are then honored at a special ceremony in San Francisco every January. Various food luminaries have hosted this event, including Alice Waters. Winners are allowed to display the "Good Food Awards Seal" on their product, indicating the company is "leading the way towards a tasty, authentic and responsible food system".
