Treasure Island New Years Eve Advisory

Fireworks viewing by general public strongly discouraged this year

In the interest of public safety, Treasure Island Development Authority strongly discourages the general public from visiting Treasure Island during New Year’s Eve, Monday December 31st, due to ongoing construction activities related to the Treasure Island Development Project. Viewing areas and parking will be extremely limited for viewing of the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show, and roadways into parking areas will be inaccessible.

The Treasure Island community should still expect an increase in visitors to Treasure Island on Monday December 31, 2018 for viewing of New Years Eve Fireworks.  Expect increased vehicle traffic on the Treasure Island Causeway, California Avenue, Avenue H and 9th Street.  Westpark Express Parking and Traffic Services Flaggers will be on Island to assist with traffic control.

Additionally, expect increased SFPD presence on Treasure Island that evening. Admiral Security will be patrolling the residential area as well, and can be reached at 415-760-0406 to report suspicious activity. For emergencies, please call 911.

All SFMTA MUNI service, including the MUNI 25-Treasure Island bus, will be FREE (don't tap your Clipper Card, otherwise you will be charged) from 9 PM on December 31st through 5 AM on January 1st.  Additionally, there will be extra Owl service on the MUNI-26 from 9 PM on December 31st through 5 AM on January 1st.

Private remember that use of any and all fireworks on-Island is prohibited at all times. Violators will be cited. Be safe when celebrating the New Year!
