New Westbound I-80 YBI On-Ramps Open Saturday October 22nd
Westbound Motorists Should Expect Adjustments Exiting At YBI
Beginning in the early morning of Saturday, October 22, 2016, the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA), in coordination with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA),will open the new westbound I-80 on- and off-ramps that connect Yerba Buena Island (YBI) and Treasure Island (TI) to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The new westbound on- and off-ramps are in different locations than the current westbound ramp which means that motorists will need to make adjustments.
Beginning October 22, 2016 the left-side westbound exit to YBI will be permanently closed.
Beginning October 22, 2016 motorists traveling westbound on the Bay Bridge to YBI/TI will:
• Exit from the far RIGHT lane (also known as the “slow lane”)
• Reduce speed to 20 miles per hour
• Experience a longer, gently curving, off-ramp
Once off the bridge, vehicles can turn right onto Macalla Road for access to Treasure Island or left to access Northgate Road to the US Coast Guard facilities on YBI.
Beginning October 22, 2016 motorists leaving YBI bound for San Francisco will:
• Experience a gently curving on-ramp that provides a longer, safer, distance for acceleration when merging into westbound traffic on the Bay Bridge.

PLEASE NOTE: MOTORISTS LEAVING YBI/TI BOUND FOR SAN FRANCISCO CAN CONTINUE TO USE THE CURRENT WESTBOUND ON-RAMP TO THE BAY BRIDGE FROM TREASURE ISLAND ROAD
