Clipper Cove Way Detour Opening and Causeway Traffic Realignment Scheduled for April 18-19

Sections of California Avenue and Avenue of Palms will also close

In support of ongoing Phase 1 construction activity, during the overnight of Thursday April 18, 2019, TICD will re-open Clipper Cove Way, close Avenue of the Palms between Clipper Cove Way and California Avenue, close California Avenue between Avenue of the Palms and Avenue D, and realign traffic lanes on the Causeway connecting Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands.

The Island community can expect the following:

Overnight Thursday April 18, 2019 into Friday April 19th, 2019:

  • Realignment of traffic on Treasure Island Causeway. Both inbound and outbound vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic will switch to the east side of the Causeway between Macalla Rd. and Clipper Cove Way.
  • Flaggers, construction personnel and Installation of traffic detour signage, road striping and additional construction fencing along Treasure Island Road, Clipper Cove Way and Avenue D.
  • Transition of inbound and outbound vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic onto Clipper Cove Way/Avenue D Detour open. See traffic circulation and detour diagram on the reverse of this flyer.
  • Avenue of the Palms will be closed to vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic north of Clipper Cove Way.
  • California Avenue will be closed to vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic west of Avenue D.
  • Cyclists and vehicles will share the road through the impacted areas on the Causeway, along Treasure Island Road, Clipper Cove Way and Avenue D.

New Island Traffic Circulation as of Friday April 19th, 2019:

  • Realignment of traffic on Treasure Island Causeway. Both inbound and outbound vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic will be on the east side of the Causeway between Macalla Rd. and Clipper Cove Way.
  • All vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic between Treasure Island Road and California Avenue will now travel along Clipper Cove Way and Avenue D.
  • The SFMTA-MUNI 25 Treasure Island bus route will follow this detour. There will be no new stop relocations or closures associated with this detour.
  •  Avenue of the Palms will be closed to vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic north of Clipper Cove Way.
  • California Avenue will be closed to vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic west of Avenue D.
  • New customer parking spaces for Treasure Island Market Deli will be established on Clipper Cove Way.  ** See diagram below**
  • The Treasure Island Administration Building parking lot will remain accessible to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists by a newly constructed driveway off of Clipper Cove Way.
  • All other on-Island streets and intersections will remain open.
